Why I built phxai.guide

If you want to find the AI scene in Phoenix, you have to go looking. There's a demo night on one platform, a workshop on another, a university summit on a campus calendar, and a monthly meetup that only its regulars seem to know about. None of it is hidden. It's just scattered.

That's the problem phxai.guide is meant to solve: one index of AI events, open roles, communities and learning resources across the Valley, from Phoenix and Scottsdale to Tempe, Mesa and Chandler.

What's in it

The launch version has 60 listings, and every one of them links to its original source:

• Events. Meetups, demo nights, workshops, talks and summits, grouped by day.
• Jobs. AI and machine learning roles at Phoenix-area employers, taken from their own career pages.
• Communities. Groups you can join and show up to, from AI Tinkerers Phoenix to the AI Society at ASU.
• Resources. Degrees, upskilling programs, accelerators and the state's own AI policy work.

There's no account and no paywall, and nobody pays for placement.

Why Phoenix, and why now

The Valley is building fast. ASU keeps growing its AI programs, Maricopa Community Colleges now offers an AI and machine learning associate degree, the state has an AI steering committee, and new chapters like the AI Collective Arizona are launching here. What's missing is a shared front door: a place where someone new to town, or new to AI, can see what's happening this week and pick something to show up to.

phxai.guide is the Phoenix counterpart of dcai.guide, which does the same thing for Washington, DC.
